Sorbaria sorbifolia 'Cherry On Top'

'Cherry on Top' has a lot to offer! We love its multi-coloured, fern-like foliage, beautiful blooms and striking seed pods.

This easy to grow and extremely cold-hardy shrub gradually naturalizes and creates dense drifts of feathery foliage. From its red stems this shrub produces vivid pink to red foliage that in turn changes to chartreuse with bronze tips before maturing to light green. What a show!

The tall plumes of feathery white flowers resemble Astilbes that turn to red seed pods through fall - hence the name 'Cherry on Top'!  It spreads by suckering roots to form colonies, which makes it a great option for erosion control on banks and slopes. Its dense clumps provide a perfect safe haven for birds and wildlife, while the autumn seeds feed the birds!
