The ultra-large flowers of this salvia hybrid will be irresistible to hummingbirds, butterflies and other pollinators.

Remove faded flowers and water a little to keep the blooms coming well into the fall. Excellent in front of the border and in containers. Salvia is easily grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soil in full sun. It prefers moist, gravelly or sandy soils with good drainage, but tolerates drought. Its flowers are attractive to bees and butterflies. ‘Marcus’ is a dwarf clump-forming perennial salvia with deep violet flowers that typically grows to only 8-10” tall. This cultivar was discovered growing as a naturally occurring mutation of S. nemerosa ‘Ostfriesland’ in Germany in 1998.
