Rainbow Silence Cactus Dahlia

This Semi-Cactus Dhalia is a tropical rainbow of colours. Shades of oranges, reds, pinks, and bold yellows that all come together in blooms up to 6 in, 15 cm across. The beautiful contrasts in every bloom will attract attention in your garden through the summer and into the fall.

Cactus Dahlias are easy to recognize by the profusion of florets that gently roll outwards. These narrowly pointed petals give them a spidery, cactus-like look. Expect blooms up to 10 in – 25 cm in size. Originating from Mexico and Guatemala, these were the flowers of Inca kings and despite their royal origins Dahlias are among the easiest plants to grow in the garden.

They are a wonderful source of cut flowers and will provide a veritable cornucopia of colourful blooms for your bouquets from mid summer until the first frost. Easy to grow as they are, Dahlias are susceptible to cold so be careful not to plant them too early and be sure to dig them up after the first frost and store them in a frost-free place.
