Fritillaria persica grows in tall spikes with multiple, hanging blooms of dark plum. It requires full sun, excellent drainage and a light loamy soil to flower and thrive.
These interesting plants make an interesting contrast to yellow and white flowers. If you would like yearly flowering we suggest lifting the bulbs in July and storing them in a warm (over 20°C) location and then replant them in the fall. Be sure to provide good drainage as Fritillarias are somewhat sensitive to water retentive soil.
