This tropical wonder loves being planted in pots with great drainage in the full sun. The foliage comes early with the pineapple-like blooms following and thriving well into fall!
Native to South America, Eucomis look strangely like an elongated pineapple bursting with little flowers! Maybe this is why it's commonly known as the Pineapple Lily. Grow in a sunny spot or at the base of a warm wall. Zones 8-10 can plant these varieties direct in the garden. For all other zones we recommend using pots or containers. Garden plantings can be left in the ground, undisturbed for many years. Container-grown plants should be re-potted in fresh soil every year. Eucomis make lovely cut flowers.
