Sea Holly is excellent for areas that receive full sun and are prone to drought. Their bright blue flowers and foliage are excellent for cutting too!
Commonly known as Sea Holly, it has a thistle-like appearance that makes it especially attractive as a cut and/or dried flower. All foliage has a bluish tinge with lower leaves being heart-shaped and upper leaves being palmately-divided. 'Blue Star' is easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun. It's a hardy plant that tolerates light shade, poor soils, drought and saline conditions. It doesn't like to be disturbed, however, so choose your spot well!
