Colchicum 'The Giant' blossoms with large crocus-like translucent flowers that are rosy pink. They will spread easily in your garden bringing you years of autumn blooms!
Colchicums always bring a surprise to fall gardens when their leafless blossoms appear. After the corms are planted in September, their unique life cycle begins with flowers appearing in a few short weeks. The blooms will last a few weeks and then the bulb will enter its dormant phase. In the Spring, foliage will develop and wither away in early summer. Then come fall it will bloom again and bring some much needed, bright colour to the autumn garden! Try planting them among shrubs or in woodland gardens or in areas that need a bit of colour late in the season.
