These gorgeous balls are made up of truly blue flowers and are astonishing! They can take a couple of seasons to bloom and are so worth the wait!
Commonly known as the Lily of the Nile, 'Blue Triumphator' has deservedly been given the Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society. It has lovely, round umbels made up of many blue tubular flowers that open wide at the mouth. Agapanthus is somewhat slow to start and takes time to establish itself in the garden but once it does it is a reliable species.
Grow it in a sunny border or container, preferably in a sheltered position in the garden against a warm wall. 'Blue Triumphator' belongs to the leaf-losing group of Agapanthus, which die off before the winter and will need protection from frost in winter.
