Although we may not have had the pleasure of meeting all of you face to face we thought it would be nice if you could see our smiling faces
and find out a little more about where we’ve come from and why we love doing what we do!
Elke immigrated to Canada in 1996 and soon thereafter co-founded Botanus. She is very passionate about our business and along with her many hands-on skills and marketing genius, she is responsible for most of our stunning plant photos.
She’s also the brainchild behind our on-line Botanus Garden Club. Not only did she spearhead the idea, but she is solely responsible for all of the filming and editing - one more task the multi-talented Elke can do.
Elke is a non-stop ‘life learner’ who has added the title of ‘Certified Holistic Nutrition Coach’ to her many skills. A foodie, beekeeper, kayaker, DIY guru, avid reader and drummer, Elke is a true force of nature!
A native Vancouverite, Pam’s love of gardening began as a child. After completing her BFA degree at UBC she pursued an active career in theatre, television and film and then returned to her ‘roots’ when she co-founded Botanus.
Her debut novel, Flour Garden, continues to be a favourite among gardeners. If you’ve ever belonged to a gardening club you’ll want to read this hilarious book full of funny, fun-loving characters.
Pam’s love of learning never ends. In 2020 she graduated with honours from UFV with a degree in Mindfulness Teaching & Learning. In 2022 she expanded her training to include life coaching and in 2023 will be officially certified with the International Life Coaching Federation.
If you’re interested in making positive changes in your life please visit Your Mind and You where she offers a variety of mindfulness courses, workshops as well as one-on-one and group-based life coaching sessions.
Wendy is our Customer Happiness Manager and many of our customers have become her gardening friends over the years. Wendy was born at the air force base in Summerside PEI but has spent most of her life in British Columbia, gardening and raising her two sons.
Last year was one of great change for Wendy. She traded in her exuberant front yard garden for a funky little condo with a large balcony. She transplanted her mindset from garden beds to containers!
Wendy earned the ‘Distinguished Toastmaster’ designation several years ago and continues to find great joy in mentoring and coaching her fellow club members and TEDx speakers.
When she's not attending Zoom meetings for the various club and coaching activities she can be found walking the trails around her new neighbourhood. Knitting, baking, reading and enjoying her cozy new space are also some of her favourite things.
