Poodle Skirt Novelty Dahlia is one of Wendy's Faves this season...here's why:
The ‘Poodle Skirt’ Dahlia is such a great combination of colours. I love the tightly packed, wine coloured ‘poof’ top, that springs out of the hot pink, petal skirt. The flowers can get to 3 in/8 cm across. I can’t wait to see this stunning novelty, Anemone type, dahlia bloom on my deck this summer.
These Poodle Skirt blooms pack so much attitude into their 3 in, 8 cm wide blooms! we think they will make a spectacular addition to your garden.
Mignon Dahlias produce nectar and pollen making them particularly attractive to late season foraging bees and bumblebees. They offer beautiful, single petalled flowers on shorter plants and are ideal in the fronts of garden beds and in containers.
They are a wonderful source of cut flowers and will provide a veritable cornucopia of colourful blooms for your bouquets from mid summer until the first frost. Easy to grow as they are, Dahlias are susceptible to cold so be careful not to plant them too early and be sure to dig them up after the first frost and store them in a frost-free place.
