Eranthis cilicica

Eranthis cilicica is one of Elke's Faves this season...here's why:

Helloooooo Spring .... is what Eranthis cilicica (also known as the Winter Aconite) should be called. It's a burst of sunshine on even the gloomiest of days. You'll be greeted with their charming blooms in early  spring just when you need them most, bringing warmth and joy to your garden and soul.

‘Winter Aconite' is a bright yellow buttercup-like flower that is set against a bright green ruff. Plant them in drifts with Single or Double Snowdrops for a late winter/early spring colour infusion.

Growing low to the ground, they create a virtual carpet of colour. Related to the Buttercup, these very early spring blooming bulbs produce a single yellow blossom per stem above a fine collar of green leaves. Leave them to naturalize in rock gardens and under trees.
