Agapanthus 'Twister'

The bicolouring of this award winning variety will make you stop and stare. The trumpet-like blooms of white have rich blue bases that put on an impressive show!

Commonly known as the Lily of the Nile, 'Twister' has deservedly been given the Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society. It has lovely, round umbels made up of many blue and white tubular flowers that open wide at the mouth. Agapanthus is somewhat slow to start and takes time to establish itself in the garden but once it does it is a reliable species.

Grow it in a sunny border or container, preferably in a sheltered position in the garden against a warm wall. 'Twister' belongs to the leaf-losing group of Agapanthus, which die off before the winter and will need protection from frost in winter.
